Stephen Guy

Stephen describes himself as an eater first and a chef second. He learned to cook professionally so he could share the joy that food gives him.

Food is often called the international language of the world. Wherever you go, food brings people together. It offers comfort. It brings joy. It is part of every culture. Moreover, it sits at the centre of almost every celebration. To Stephen, food is a gift. It is something to learn, appreciate, and share.

He describes his style as “Pretty Simple Food.” In essence, it focuses on simple cooking with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. His dishes are comforting, thoughtful, and accessible. Above all, his ethos rests on three rules: make it delicious, make it generous, and make it fun.

Stephen honed his skills as a Head Chef for Jamie Oliver. He ran Jamie’s cookery schools in London. There, he taught people simple, approachable cooking with global influences. Later, he moved into product development. He helped launch food products for major UK retailers as well as brands like Nando’s and KFC. This experience gave him valuable insight into what people enjoy eating worldwide.

Today, his focus has shifted. He is passionate about our relationship with food, the environment, and our choices. As a result, he encourages people to make better food decisions that support the planet, local businesses, and local economies—all without compromising the personal joy that food brings.
