Perrys Field to Fork cookery courses in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside.

Perrys Field to Fork is based in Eccleshall, in the heart of rural Staffordshire. Our Cookery School is easily accessed from Derbyshire, Shropshire and Cheshire and we are only minutes from the M6 (north and south junctions), A51, A50 and the A34. Perrys Field to Fork artisan butchery and cookery school is located in the centre of the historic market town of Eccleshall which dates back to the 12th Century.

For over three centuries Eccleshall had a thriving leather working and shoemaking industry but today you’ll discover a great range of retail and leisure experiences on the High Street, Castle Street and Stafford Street:

All of our full day cookery courses include welcome refreshments and lunch but if you’re attending a short cookery course or staying overnight you can pop for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner at a host of restaurants, cafés and bars, right on our doorstep.

Blessed with not one but seven pubs and bars in less than one quarter square mile! Serving local brews, continental and craft beers, and a host of spirits and cocktails. Live music and big screen games is a regular feature at several bars each weekend. Pubs and bars can be found on The High Street, Castle Street, Stafford Street and Gaol Butts.

Eccleshall’s extensive Parish, the second largest in the County, comprises some 20,000 acres. Pick up one of the leaflets from the library detailing the circular walks starting and finishing in the centre of historic Eccleshall. Walks range from 4 miles upwards. Remember to bring your wellies!

Eccleshall town is a conservation area and much of the architecture dates back to the Georgian period, although many buildings were constructed earlier than that. Pick up your copy of the town guides – North and South – from the library and take a short tour which details each of the key buildings’ significance. The pace is determined by you, but you can easily lose yourself for a couple of hours or more on this interesting walk.

Eccleshall is proud to host a packed season of games, including; Rugby Union (Baden Hall – just over 2 miles from the centre of Eccleshall); Football (Eccleshall FC, Pershall, 1 mile from the centre) and; Eccleshall Cricket Club, found at the end of the High Street.

 

If fishing is your partner’s passion and pastime, they couldn’t be in a better place. We have two well-appointed facilities (Baden Hall and Heronbrook) within 2 miles of Eccleshall where they can enjoy Specimen, Leisure and Match fishing.

From buzzards to barn owls, monkeys to meercats, lounging lizards to eagles and emu, there’s always something new to see at Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre. Gentleshaw is located just 0.5 miles from the centre of Eccleshall.

Play crazy golf, hop on a train ride and browse the extensive range of giftware and clothing and the superb collection of plants, tools and garden furniture.
